LATTC students design the Breezeway!

Kid City has invited students from Los Angeles Trade Technical & Community College (LATTC) to design its new outdoor program space: The Kid City Breezeway! Students in Professor Marcela Oliva's “green building” class at Trade Tech are starting work on the Breezeway! Their task? To make dreams come true: a place for students, volunteers, and staff to meet up in a shady, restful space, with custom-furniture, native drought-tolerant landscaping, solar-powered lighting, and beautiful murals. The project is generously funded by Lowe's Hometown, with space provided by 1010 Development Corp. and wall for the mural offered by Telacu Plaza. Students are part of Careers by Design-LA (CDLA), which provides a pathway to professional service jobs within the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) sector.  We'll be updating this blog frequently, so come back for more good news often!
